Chosen Solution
Im currently using Lenovo 720S , 13 inch. its my first time to use an ultrabook. anyhow ive used laptops before with backlit keyboard that you can customize to turn it off 30-second to 360 seconds if not being used or simply idle depending on your settings. now the funny thing is that the keyboard lights of my laptop can’t be customized or simply just stay always on all the time even if im idle though you can certainly turn it off manually. my question though is that is it safe or okay to keep the keyboard lights on as I leave my laptop always on 24/7 as my work always involve with emails? or should i turn it off manually as i go to bed? (fn+spacebar)
Hi @islush , It should be perfectly fine to leave them on, as the system has been designed for them, however it may be that the “light” from the keyboard may be disturbing to you at night. You can if you wish dim the lights rather than turn them off. According to the User Guide on p.4 it appears that the lights cycle through off - dim- bright -off when pressing the space bar (with Fn). Hopefully this is of some help.
