I had recently bought a iPhone off a friend who had never said the phone had damage. They had stated it had normal wear and tear. When I had went to turn the phone on I was told that the sim senor inside the phone was damaged hence it didn’t read any sim card the lady was placing in. Does apple give any type of repair for that? What would need to be replaced? I took the phone to a third party and they said apple would fix it for 175$, does that sound about right?

A new SIM card reader must be installed on the logic board so this requires a micro-soldering repair. IMHO, 175$ seems on the high side but it really depends on where you live.
