I bought a replacement battery and the instructions are really excellent. I was happy, that everything started. But now I get displayed, that the battery is manufactured in January 2011 — more than 10 years ago! That is new? Really? I am really concerned and asking myself, what to do. Is there a reasonable explanation for that? As requested I show the Screenshot of CoconutBattery:
Before this I installed Battery Health 3:
Interesting, their manufacturing date differs slightly. At the beginning I had an old version of Battery Health 2 installed, which showed me the same day in January but in year 2011. How comes, that different apps show different dates? I expect Battery Health 2 having a bug, but the two apps shown in the screen shots differ a couple of days. Strange. Best Regards, Dirk
It is possible (although unlikely) that the battery was manufactured in 2011. However, it is more likely that the battery is newer and something is wrong with the date. Are you seeing the 2011 manufacture date on the battery itself, or somewhere in MacOS? If 2011 is printed on the battery it might be possible that something was misprinted. If you are concerned about the battery’s age, you could contact the manufacturer.
