I just bought this new laptop and it comes with the HDD upgrade kit I was wondering if it’s mandatory to add it in before I use it or can I wait a while and not lose my stuff when I update it.
Hi Good Ac, O.K I get it now. Acer uses a funny little ribbon cable for HDD/SSD. No it is not maditory to upgrade at all but the 128GB M.2 drive is kind of small. It is up to you. Personally I would just upgrade the M.2 drive to a larger size unless you have a spare large SSD that you could use. No worries about loosing your stuff as there are several free drive cloning apps available. Does that answer your question? Let us know what you decide to do. If you have only 4GB of RAM upgrading to 8GB would be a good move.
