I know you can on the 6 but I’ve read it’s fused to the digitizer in the 6s. Just looking for confirmation.
The home button extension cable is together with the screen on the iPhone 6s. The home button itself is separate and removable though.
You will have to replace the metal plate that has the flex extension in it. During screen removal, this cable is easy to stretch and subsequently damage. I did it on my first one and panicked because you cannot replace the Touch ID but turns out it was only the extension which is replaceable.
