Hi , i have just repaired an iphone 6 board (shorted cap) there is no sign of water damage , should i ultrasonic the board any way after any rework or is it unnecessary ?
If the board was water damaged, then absolutely! However, if you did a very localized fix and there isn’t flux residue all over the place, I believe it’s appropriate to clean the board locally with IPA or Flux Remover. Ultimately, you want the board looking like new, or as close to that as possible.
