Within 10 minutes of me using my laptop, the fan comes on. It’s not very loud, but I can definitely hear it. The fan doesn’t shut off until I have closed the lid to my laptop. I appreciate your thoughts!
Being usually a quiet machine, although it’s normal the fans get started after some usage I see here several options: You use your macbook for fairly demanding tasksYou are a person very sensitive to noise and use it mainly in silent environmentSome undesired task is started up using consistently a high percentage of your processor. In case the latter seems to you the best explanation, when fans start you can open Activity monitor you will find in Application/Utility folder. Select from menu to show all processes running and see what’s using most CPU. That will give you a clearer picture on what’s happening and might answer your question about fans.
