Chosen Solution

Hello! I just bought a used Nikon N80. It seemed to be in perfect condition, but I took it home and discovered a focusing problem. The image in the view finder is dim. And when I try to focus, the lens goes in all the way and back out to infinity without finding a focus point. I tried a few lenses with the same result. I checked the sensor at the bottom of the chamber, and it’s clean. Like I said, the camera seems to be in great condition otherwise. What do you think? Is this a brick, or can I fix it? I should also mention that I bought the camera with the lens improperly attached. I had to carefully cut a tiny piece of plastic off the lens mount to get it off. Fortunately I paid only $20 for it, plus new batteries. Thanks for any input on this! Eric

Eric Zulaski I wonder if you have trouble with the AF unit or if an adjustment would work. Since you are only in for $20 it maybe worth your while to get the repair manual from this page (under “Document”) and go through the adjustment routines etc.
