Hi, my iphone 7 has been water damaged. When I plug in charger, apple logo appears then goes black, and repeat. I did the chemical cleaning at the repair shop but it’s not working. they said it needs front camera/audio, and battery replaced. so, I properly replaced it by myself, however, still the same problem. BUT, I found out that the bracket that holds home button to the front display is missing. can the missing bracket be the reason for my phone’s problem? or any suggestions? :/

No, the back plate just gives the button something firm to press against to allow it to be pressed and make internal contact. You can place the home button on a table and press it. You will feel and hear the “click” from it …the plate just provides this firm backing to allow it to activate when pressed. Hard to tell what was damaged from water damage, but if taken to a repair shop, have the board cleaned properly in ultra sonic cleaner and then tested would be my best suggestion.

Absolutely necessary. iPhone 7 home button tend to fall off without the button. When it falls off and tears the cable, this phone is s c r e w e d for life.
