so i dropped my iphone 4s in water and removed it after 2 minutes from being in the water and dried it i gave to a fixing guy he opened it and dried the battery and everything but the screen is blank and the touch screen is dead i cannot connect it to the itunes because i can’t make the iphone trust the computer because the touch is dead and the logic board has been corrupted but the data on it is still saved and i still can hear a sound when i plug it in the charger so is there anyway that i can backup the data without making the iphone trust the computer or is it possible that the logic board can be fixed ?
loaynabil98, it does not really matter how much water was involved, it will depend on where it got into the phone and if it shortened out any of the SMD components etc. The very first thing you want to do, is to stop trying to turn your phone on or to try and sync it etc. this could potentially make a bad situation worse. Next you want to clean your phone properly. This will prevent failure caused by corrosion later on. The procedure for cleaning your iPhone is pretty much the same. Use these guides to work on your phone. Disassemble it and clean it using this guide. It was written for a 3G but all the points are still pertinent to your phone. Use 90%+ isopropyl alcohol to clean it. Once you got it cleaned, replace the battery, drying it will not work. Then reassemble your phone and re-evaluate for further, if any, damage. Yes, it is “possible” that this is caused by your dock connector failing as well as a bad display assembly, but also by numerous other possibilities. Hope this helps, good luck.
