Hi, My iPhone 5 works perfect on 3G however not in 4G. All settings are right, also provider settings have been checked. Is the 3G antenna the same component as the 4G antenna or are they separated? Thanks.
I gotta admit, this stumped me for a second. Yes, they’re the same antennae. The reason why you’re having this problem, is a settings issue. Which, unfortunately I don’t have an answer for at the moment. I’ll check now, just didn’t want you to get impatient and start prying your phone apart Here, try these things. First check the models, American iPhone 5 models do not work on European/Asian 4G networks, also true the other way around, only 3G is possible in these situations. If that is not the case, you shouldn’t be looking at the antenna either. Reception by different technology is based on RF front end bands, they share the same antenna. So if your phone has 3G, it is only possible that the amps responsible for 4G bands has broken, that’s a logic board issue.
