Solved Ipod Turns On To White Screen And Then Shuts Off Ipod Touch 1St Generation

I have an iPod touch 1st generation turns on only when plugged in and it is not recognized by iTunes. The screen goes white for a few seconds and then turns off. It looks like there are some bars on the that quickly disappear shortly after it is turned on to display only a white screen. Occasionally it will stay on for 30 sec to 1 min and it seems to respond to touch by changing brightness but still just a white screen.

white screen of death ??? iv’e read about it - most people try to hard reboot their devices press and hold the home and the power buttons (at the same time) for about 30-40 seconds until you get the apple sign on your screen

does this work fir ipod touch 4 too?

it didnt work for me and im having the same problem. i held it down both home button and power button and it didnt work! :( HELPP
