I have the Ipod classic 120gb and for some reason it shows 11gb of music used but when you try to play music it shows now songs. S
I have tried reset and factory reset. Also tried to hook it to iTunes but all it states is connected and the arrow goes round and round. Before I replace the hard disc looking for advice if any on next steps

Can you hear the hard drive making noise? If not I wouldn’t waste your money on replacing the hard drive. You can get a flash drive setup to replace the hard drive. You can get a single port, double port or a quad port. I just purchased the parts to rebuild my wifes ipod with the dual iflash sd card holder. I bought 2 128gb ad cards. A new front cover black with a black center selector button. A red scroll wheel. A new thick chrome back cover with 250gb graced on it. A new screen, battery and power button. It was in bad shape but she loved it, possibly because I gave it to her. So it should last for quite awhile. I bought the parts from demigods.com they even carry the board for most models. They have all of the parts you will need for an ipod classic.
