Hello Answer Forum. I am wondering why is my iPod 5th Generation (Video) not keeping it’s charge after charging it over night? I recently ordered a new battery from iFixit & my iPod battery won’t seem to keep the charge. It clearly shows that it’s charging as I see the battery icon flashing it’s lightning bolt. As soon as I disconnect the power it turns off. It plays well when I connect it to hear my music in my car while it’s charging. Does this sound familiar? Or, did I do something wrong during installation of the new battery?
@studiolounge could be an issue with the battery. I’d contact iFixit support on here https://help.ifixit.com/collection/130-c… and see if you get a replacement. If that still does not resolve it, check the battery connector on the main board. Those have a tendency of breaking loose. Anything after that will be related to the charging circuitry and thus requires some micro soldering and a schematic (which does not seem to exist in the public forum)
Never mind…..lol. I found out the problem. When I opened up my iPod again to investigate, I found that the battery cable had became loose while putting the iPod back together. I’m so glad it wasn’t something else : )
