Chosen Solution

Hello all, My apologies if this question has been beaten to death, but my searches of the forums didn’t turn up any helpful results. I am replacing the screen on an iPhone XS. I am going from an OLED original screen to an iFixIt LCD replacement screen. I installed the new screen without any hiccups in the process and powered on. Everything looks fine, I just don’t have any touch functionality. To troubleshoot, I removed the new screen and put the old screen back in to test. The old screen does still have touch screen functionality and works correctly. I reinstalled the new screen and again lost touch functionality.

Do I have a faulty screen replacement? Nothing was damaged that I can see in the installation process and considering I was able to install the old screen without any damage, I’m guessing human error isn’t to blame - although it certainly could be. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated! TIA

From my experience this usually happens with OLED screens and not the LCD ones. Unless you can test the screen on another phone I would suggest returning it for a replacement.
