Hi Guys! My bought an iphone X like a year ago and i’ve have had to replace the screen like three times already. All of the times the fall that caused the screen to crack was about like one metre. Either I’m extremely unlucky or theres something funky elsewhere. I’m planning on replacing the screen myself this time as its freaking expensive to repair it but im wondering if there’s something else that might be causing the screen to crack easily? Thanks for the help!

If the screen isn’t properly seated/attached to the housing it might loose some of its rigidity, I think that the watertight seal also contributes to the firmness of the screen. So when you disassemble you’ll notice if the previous repair shop installed the seal or not, I don’t think many repair shops do this unfortunately. Another thing that could be causing it is if something isn’t re-assembled correctly inside of the phone and is pressing against the screen, creating a pressure point making it weaker in that place. Think of long screws installed in a place where a short screw is needed, or simply loose screws that are now touching the backplate of the LCD. I’ve also seen ribbon cables poorly installed (not routed correctly under the shield) causing pressure points and white spots on the screen. If none of those 2 options are the case, it could also mean you simply got very poor quality screens attached. There are differences between screens and the production quality of them. Not only in quality of resolution/color, but also things like glass quality. So maybe if it’s possible, try to source a refurbished or second hand original screen, if not possible go for an A+ quality screen and not the cheapest you can find :-) Hope this all helps.
