Just got an iPhone x qualcomm with everything present modem firmware, imei in settings but no imei when i dial *#06#. Split the board hoping it would be just missing pads but all pads are intact and even checked baseband related ic’s. every reading seems fine. cant find the issue. please help
Welcome to another Rabbit hole! I have just given up on the same repair. I think if I restored it I would have been faced with the unable to activate so I didn’t try. On other phones I found that the IMEI stays in settings until it is restored than there is usually no IMEI and the unable to activate message is displayed. You will need to remove baseband and check for oxidised pads which I have encountered once before. If you do remove baseband I suggest doing a bottom board swap which includes baseband, eeprom and the NFC IC’s. That way you have ruled out everything and can conclude it is a faulty baseband.
That is WTR issues brother below the sim holder.
