Hello, I have an iPhone X motherboard which has a very large current when plugged into the DC power supply, however it does not get hot. This is just for the top layer of the motherboard, the top and bottom layer are separated. What could this be caused by? Thank you for your help!

If heat is not visible on the board and producing a large current draw it will be coming from an IC. In my experience it will either be Tigris or PMIC. Remember no heat on board rules out small components like caps. The x has a large ground plain and that is where the current is going.
