Hello everybody I had my iPhone water damaged lately and I got it out of the water working then it started to restart in a loop, so I just turned it off and let it dry for about 4 hours, after that I tried to turn it on, it worked perfectly but face id was not working, I could see moisture in the front and camera lenses so I put it in rice all the night . Then in the morning I tried to turn it on , it did but after 5 min the screen went yellow and black bars appeared all over the screen and then it just turned off, but I can still hear sound effects like charging effect . so I knew that the screen just died .i decided to repair it. If I replace the screen what else should I replace to make the face id work again, Many people said that whatever I do I cant get the face id again unless I take the phone to apple . PS I live in Lebanon where there are no apple stores sadly.

If you replace iPhone 8, 8 plus or X screen you need to copy the firmware data of the original screen into the new screen. The needed tool is under development. I saw some working versions, what are tested and working with IOS 11.4 and 12.0 Beta. The screen data can be cloned only to OEM screens for now. Afte the copy of the data, the light sensor and face id works well again.
