Hi, My problem with audio on my iPhone after 14.3 update is so weird.
Today my friend dont hear me during call on Messenger Audio. I testing my microphone on others apps like Instagram, Voice Memos, Whatsapp - the same problem. Just normal call solve the problem but that one can’t be on Speaker, just to the ear.
Im was very angry, im was try change a lot of options like Privacy, Audio and Visuals, Bluetooth, force restart, restore settings and factory reset, also iOS from iTunes and IPSW file (other source than iTunes).
OK - thats not help for me, i decided to put in other original screen and front microphone/speaker from other iPhone - still the same problem. Weird.
Then.. after my accepted my such bad day - my pizza delivery guy try to call me. First i hear him but he can’t hear me becouse my microphone doesn’t works of course.. i call back to try one more time and.. bam… no sound, no mic. From this moment i cant hear anything during call (speaker mode is fine) and nobody can hear me.
curiosity: when i say “Hi Siri” everything is fine. Siri helps me so good. Like a microphone is working, but no. Voice Memos - silent, litle noises. I can record videos from the rear camera and front camera - both of them with sound.
Any ideas? I got stupid right now. It is maybe Audio IC? Audio problem on motherboard?
This will be a parts fault not a board issue. Siri can hear you and there is sound on videos so there is nothing wrong with your audio IC. The part you need to replace first is the dock assembly as this has multiple microphones. Make sure it is a pulled original one or you will run into additional problems.
