I recently replaced the screen of an iPhone XS - replacement went fine etc, all seemed to work. However, now the device doesn’t seem to charge. Connecting a lightning cable does nothing at all (charging or as a device when connected to a mac), and while placing the phone on a wireless charger shows the charging logo, it doesn’t actually charge. Checked multiple cables etc, cleaned the port etc. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
If the battery was fine before the screen swap and you didn’t disturb the charge dock or its connector the first thing I would be checking is the battery connector. Make sure it is seated properly and the pins haven’t been pushed into the plastic. You can put some pressure on it and see if it starts charging. The other thing to check would be a nudged component near the battery connector. You will need some type of magnification to check this as the components are extremely small.
