Hello.. I was replacing my LCD screen, but at the first trial, there was a faulty connection, so i had to disconnect and reconnect the screen again but this time i forgot to disconnect the battery first,.. After that the screen went dead, all in black, but i can receive calls and Itunes is picking up phone … Any ideas? Update: The phone is not responding to anything, even the sleep button should decline a phone call, but it doesn’t, also the volume buttons aint responding and still a black screen. I’ve checked for the backlight problem, when focusing a Flash light on the screen, I see nothing, no dim images or anything.. Thanks in advance…

You most likely blew the backlight circuit on the logic board. When you connect/disconnect the screen with the battery connected, it is possible to short the backlight circuit as the pins are adjacent within the connector. If you want to be certain, shine a bright flashlight on the screen when you connect it to an iTunes enabled computer. If you see a dim image, then the backlight circuit is blown. Or try your original display to see if the problem remains. The only way to fix this is to have the backlight circuit repaired and this requires a micro-soldering repair. This is not a typical DIY repair unless you already have the proper tools and experience as the component density on iPhone logic boards is very high.
