My iPhone SE screen went black. The phone is on and is recognized in iTunes - receives calls and texts (can’t answer because can’t see). The screen is actually a very dark grey, when it is woke from sleep you can tell it’s on. It was never wet. I believe the screen was replaced once before… What could this be??
Shine a bright light to the screen to check if you can see a dimmed image of your desktop or boot screen. If that’s the case it might be a backlight issue, often caused by screen replacement one way or the other. However, since you don’t know previous history it might be simply the screen gone bad..a replacement would be the first thing to try. No way to tell for sure without some try and error.
