Hi there! I got an iPhone SE (1st gen) that wouldn’t turn on. (Showed the Apple logo and immediately turned off again.) On opening it, I discovered that a third party battery had been installed. (Branded “LTZGO” and labelled as “high capacity, 1800mAH”.) I switched out the battery and tried an iFixit model as well as an old original Apple battery. The iPhone boots fine now and everything works, but: When plugged in it shows “charging” but the battery percentage doesn’t change. The phone randomly reboots after a couple of minutes of use. It’s got iOS 13.5 installed. Is there anything I can try to narrow down the problem further? Is this salvageable? Or does it sound like a logic board problem? Any help is greatly appreciated!
It could possibly have a bad charging port. It could also have a bad tristar ic which controls charging and data transfer. You can have a shop check the tristar with a tristar tester.
I have one with the exact same symptoms. A new charging port stopped the random reboot but it won’t charge. My next step is Tristar and maybe Tigris once i’m there. Hope that works or i won’t go beyond with this lil buddy.
