Hi, the iPhone 5s I have fell and an IC broke and detached from the board. Due to that it is showing lines on the display. I want the name of IC as well as the solution for this IC as I don’t have any scrap iPhone 5s board to take the IC from and change it. And I don’t know the name of the IC. So should I assume that it has bad connector . ( It has digitizer connector also broken it worked one time when the LCD worked Fine ). I have tried with new LCD also same result

The absence of this component does not cause lines. Try to use the compass, you will find that it is not calibrating. So that’s for the compass. Lines are caused either by a bad screen cable, or screen cable not connected properly, or components on the board being damaged due to water damage or a bad drop (but not the ones you mentioned).

Yes, that is the compass ic. In the iPhone 5, it is left off all the time since it is often hit for water damage. I know on the 5s it is a two layer ic. Replacing it would really be tough. Out of interest—can you confirm that this phone still gets cell service and recognizes a SIM? I have a colleague troubleshooting a 5s with no compass ic right now. We assume it would be unrelated to SIM detection from the schematic, but it would be nice to confirm. Line on your display: show us a picture for more guidance. Thin lines = likely bad LCD. solve with new screen. A white line always in the same place = bad digitizer connector–send out for new connector Zebra stripe lines across the display (plus/minus no touch) = drop damage to touch ic or related circuitry. good luck! jessa
