My friend dropped the iphone into a pool, i quickly got it out and dried it. I put it in rice for 2 days then i tried to turn it on but it had ran out of power (the logo with the battery and the sign that means connect to power) when i connected it to a wall charger it turned on and told me i need to activate it (it also said it had 100 precent battery). When i disconnected it to plug it into the computer it shut off and when i plugged it into the computer it loops on the apple logo (when i return it to the wall charger it boots ok but keeps saying that i need to activate it). I put it in dfu mode (later on also tried in recovery mode) and tried to restore, it gave me a message The iPhone could not be restored and unknown error occurred (1611). The apple site tells me its a hardware problem. Can this be fixed or should i buy a new phone? Thanks, Dan
Take your phone apart, there may be corrosion on the logicboard rice left behind, you need isopropyl alcohol 99% to clean it and this will prevent future damage After that is done, you might have to reset it, this is your best bet Hold home and power and let go as soon as the apple logo comes up Being you tried DFU mode, if it still fails, the logicboard may be bad
