Hello there, had a question regarding the WTR IC of the 8 and 8 plus. Had an 8 come in with No service so replaced the WTR from a known goodiphone 8 icloud board but still same issues. Asked my tech friend and he said to use a WTR from an iPhone X. So im waiting for dead or iCloud iPhone X’s on my table so i can replace the WTR. But if its true why does iPX WTR work and not an 8 WTR? Aren’t they the same?
I am not sure Myron but this is how many solutions become available because technicians start experimenting. They might have the same connectors but the design might be different. Most people just assume it is the baseband or the WTR IC but it could be something entirely different. There are about 15 pages of schematics for the cell interface. That is why it is important to get the history of the phone. Let us know the result after you replace it with one from the X.
