Hello all, I have a iPhone 7 and would like to implement wireless charging by replacing the back housing. Is it possible to buy an iPhone 8 housing with Qi pad on EBay and build rest of the phone using iPhone 7 parts?? Both phones are comparable in size so will this work? Is it compatible? thanks
Unfortunately they are not compatible. They are not the same size, they have a different camera layout and there would be nowhere on the iPhone 7 board to connect the Qi charging pad. You can however buy an external Qi receiver that sticks to the back of your phone and connects to the lightning port. It even works under a case as long as its not metal. Ther is a way to add wireless charging to an iPhone 7 but switching all the internals into one of the cases on dhgate.com. If you search for wireless charging housing iPhone 7 you will find them. A YouTube did a video about them recently on the iPhone 6s. Strange parts also sells their own housing but it does not have the apple logo on the back.
