iPhone 7 with new iFixit battery shows 20% and charging but it does not increase. The battery percentage decreases when unplugged. Other iPhone 7 battery charging answers suggest possible TriStar issue. Any other suggestion? I’m hesitant to buy another iFixit battery.
After several hours of charging the battery, the percentage never exceeded 18. There was no damage to the iPhone prior to me replacing the bulging battery. I repeated the iFixit guide for replacing the battery and was extremely careful disconnecting and reconnecting components–as I was initially–and did not see anything loose. I did not remove the replacement battery and adhesive. The phone works perfectly now. Thank you!
It does sound like “false charging” which is indeed a Tristar issue but you should rule out faulty parts first like the battery and charging dock also check the battery connector is seated properly.
