Hello. I just bought an iPhone 7 32GB Rose Gold from a guy for a fair price. He told me before giving to me that he ripped off the lcd cable flexes (LCD connector still ok but display output is in bad shape, TouchID connector is completely snapped off) after doing battery replacement plus missing screws. After further checking, I’ve found out that the Gyro/Compass won’t work. Gyro can work for a while after every reboot. I began teared down the phone and I saw that the black tape on the logic board got teared a bit (See second picture). Then, I put some scotch tapes on the logic board and the lcd metal cover. I’ve highlighted where I put the tapes on the first picture. After reassembling, the Gyro/Compass came back to life. Can anyone clarify why? I just want to know. Thank you for answering. ``

Putting the scotch tape on wouldn’t have any impact on the gyro since it has a metal shield over it. I have found if it keeps happening it will more than likely be a loose resistor on the edge of the board near the baseband CPU of beside the gyro chip.
