Hello, I have a 2 year old iPhone 7 which suffers from severe battery drain, the battery drains from 100% to 0% within 4-7 hours while not in use. The battery health is at 83%, so that shouldn’t be an issue. I’ve tried resetting it multiple times, updating to the latest iOS, turning on airplane mode. Nothing helped. Settings shows no apps using the battery. I found that the iPhone draws 140mA from the battery. I also have a 5 year old iPhone 7 with battery health at 77% and it drains from 100% to 0% in like a week. What could cause it?
If you got those readings from a DCPS you would defiantly have a board problem. If you are using an USB ammeter to obtain them it would point to a faulty battery. The first rule in board repair is to rule out parts. From experience an iPhone 7 with battery health at 87 and below will cause this problem.
Perhaps one of two things has happened.
- A malicious program is on your phone draining the battery or
- Your battery is faulty, even though the life is at 83% it could just be bad. You may just want to get a new battery.
