iPhone 7 Plus Lightning Connector Assembly Replacement step 51 in this guide Hi all, hoping someone can give me some help with this. I’m changing the charge port in my 7 plus, after the change I had no cell reception. So i’ve pulled it all apart again and installed another new charge port and also a new cell antenna (on top of loud speaker) in case i damaged the antenna cable, and when I get time i’ll put it all back together and hope for the best. I’m reading through the guide on ifixit and they show a picture of this “spring contact” under one of the screws of the charge port. I can’t find this part and I don’t know if i had it to start with or not. It doesn’t appear to do much, it seems to press on top of some resin part of the charge port. I don’t think this is my issue but, do I need it and what does it do? Any other help appreciated.
This is a grounding clip, so most likely this could be your issue. It is very small and easily misplaced some times, I mean personally I would say this would be your issue purchase a new grounding clip & then test again.
Hope this helps.
