Hello guys, my iphone starts behaving strangely a while back. during a call, the phone starts to get very hot on the right top as seen from the front. Sometimes it gets so hot that the phone shuts down due to overheating. Apple has already performed a remote analysis but without any outcome. When using the phone normally (except calling) there are no issues. Sometimes it gets a little warm but nothing extraordinary. Is it possible that there is a broken component that is responsible for this? I imagine that there might be a component that is only used when a call is performed and creates these issues? Or would a broken component create issues all the time and not just during calls? The phone was never opened and is in very good condition. It also never came into contact with water. Unfortunately, I dont seem to find any hardware related issues similar to mine. Mostly the solutions are solved by reinstalling the software but this didnt work either. you guys think that a repair shop can fix this? Thanks for your time, Alex
There are indeed components activating only when certain actions are performed. On top right of the phone there are flat cable connectors of camera, which should be out of picture in this case and the one for front cam/speaker/light and proximity sensors. Maybe one of those call related components is faulty and shorts a power line when in use. I’d suggest replacing that part as first repair attempt..here’s the relevant guide and part if you want to purchase it from iFixit shop: iPhone 7 Front Camera and Sensor Cable Replacement iPhone 7 Front Camera and Sensor Cable
