Hi guys, I have one iPhone 7 here. It has no service, no baseband firmware in settings. I know it could be the baseband chip or baseband power IC (BBPMU). I want to reball the BBPMU first. However, I found one capacitor next to the BBPMU is shorted (see attached picture, the one in the red circle). The problem is that the schematics I got here is different from the phone. The phone is an UK phone, the iPhone 7 schematic available online probably is for North America or Asia? The PCB layout of the UK iPhone 7 is different from the schematic, so I don’t know which line the shorted capacitor belongs to, and I don’t know what it is, because the capacitor is simply not there in the schematic. Can anyone tell me which line it is please? And what’s its name? Many thanks.
Welcome to my world…or maybe I am just joining yours ;>) Here in Canada we also have the Intel version of the iPhone 7. There is not a lot of troubleshooting info on this model although to be fair, the baseband subsystem seems to be more stable under the Intel chip-set. You can find full schematics and board drawings in the FCL (WuXinJi) software. The capacitor you circled is C5704_RF and it is a 0.1MF/6.3V/X5R/01005. It is on the VDD_IO_1V2 line.
