My mom has had a sound problem with her Galaxy 8 whenever she plugs her headphones in it plays from the phone speaker.. but she found the reason why it stopped working it was because she was connected to her Bluetooth but when she plugs her headphones in it still wouldn’t work even when she disconnected. So she reconnected to that same speaker Bluetooth thing and when she disconnected it started working again when she plugged her headphones in they worked Update (07/14/2020) I recently was playing music on that Bluetooth device and now my iPhone 7 isn’t working when I have my headphones plugged in no sound however it’s coming from my phone speaker and when I’m making a call or receiving no sound and when I’m making videos there’s no sound and I’ve tried connecting my phone to it and disconnecting but it hasn’t worked and I’ve tried restarting and still no sound from my headphones and I’ve used different jacks and different headphones
If speakerphone icon is greyed out during calls and you can’t start a voice memo recording then the audio IC is at fault and needs to be repaired. A local reputable phone repair shop that does micro-soldering can fix this for you. Note that these kind of repairs can get pretty expensive and you may want to consider getting another phone depending on your circumstances. This is a very widespread issue on the iPhone 7 due to the slim design of the housing.
Check and see if siri works. Have you dropped the phone? Do you carry the phone in your pants pocket and sit down with the phone is there? iPhone 7 have a weak case and they flex. They twist and bend easily. The problem is the motherboard is screwed down onto the case. This cause the board to twist and bend and the audio ic lifts up off the motherboard and it can cause these issues. They can be intermittent. It usually tests a pad or few off of the motherboard and you will need someone who can microsolder. They will need to run at least one jumper wire and usually three. This is a common problem with the iPhone 7 and 7 plus.
