Hi my customer have a cracked screen and home button that stopped functioning, can the home button be replaced using the buttons sold online?? I asked the seller of the button and he said the replacement but the Touch ID will disable. Is this true? Or should I send my customer to Apple?
Better send it to Apple for the moment, because once you use a third party button the iPhone will automatically disable all home button fonctions, iPhone 7 is different from previous generations. Assistive touch will kick in automatically once it detects a malfunction of the button even with a new home button. Lets hope with the next iOS update they (Apple) will let us replace this part>
Hey Nerdchikk, Unfortunately, with Apple making it increasingly impossible to do home button repairs, you will not be able to replace the home button whatsoever. Once an iPhone 7 home button breaks, only the Geniuses can install a new one. If you can’t figure out a way to get the original to work, you’re out of luck.
