Chosen Solution Hi all, I have a question regarding my Asus F555LJ laptop. Since a few days, when I push (left) Shift + n there is nothing shown on my screen. When I push (right) shift + n the capital N will show up. I don’t have this problem with any of the other keys, except the n. Does anybody know what the problem could be? Kind regards, Daniel If you know how to dismantle the keyboard, open up … clean up the keyboard from dust and use an eraser to erase the contacts of the LVDS cable… reinsert and try again....

Chosen Solution Hi, I was wondering if this is just a MOSFET issue or if the cpu (and therefore the whole board) is toast. I get a charge light and a blue light when I power it on, but no display. I removed the MOSFET that seemed to be the issue (some shorts disappeared) however I just checked some of the capacitors on the rest of the board and there are several capacitors where neither end is connected to ground (labelled “dead” in picture) and several more that are shorted all around and right behind the cpu....

Chosen Solution There I was sitting watching Kitchen Nightmares on youtube when my laptop cut off. It was usual for it to cut off at times when I didn’t remember to keep it plugged in, as my battery capacity was very low. So I plugged it back in, it didn’t come on this time…. When I checked, the power light wasn’t on as usual. I deduced that I needed a new charger, as the old one was a bit snagged and I went out to buy a universal laptop charger....

Chosen Solution Hello There, A few days back i tried to repair a water damage MacBook, it had minor problems. I disassembled everything from the motherboard, also the cpu heatsink. Then I did the motherboard in an isopropyl bath (99,9%) for about 10 hours and dry it for 15 hours. After that I reassembled everything but now the MacBook gives no sign of life. What did i do wrong? Chosen Solution Hooked up to recharge, a low battery image appeared with a USB image pointing to a power source. After 30+ hours, nothing has happened? If you have any warranty coverage for your device try to have it replaced before attempting any reapir on your own. In addition, it may sound stupid, but try shutting off the Paperwhite and restarting. Hold the power button down until the screen goes completely blank....

Chosen Solution Hi, I have a mac book pro 13" Mid 2009 model. The problem that I am facing is that when i switched the internal drive to upgrade the hard drive, both hard drives stopped being recognized, although i can boot up from an external usb the internal drives wont boot up from startup. There is no error message and the apple logo with the spinning wheel keeps spinning. Please help me what to do ....

Chosen Solution Hi all, I have a problem with my macbook air 6,2. The first issue was the computer did’t turned on. The SMC reset and regular things did’t helped. I took down the bottom case, and plugged out the battery cable. After this when I plugged in the charger, the computer is turned on immediately. I took back the case, and restarted the computer, the computer was dead as before....

Chosen Solution Replacement Magsafe connector got super hot using 60w charger with new 3rd party battery. Hot enough there was damage. Replaced the charger and magsafe. Now have replaced internal magsafe connection as well. No charging going on, no indicator battery condition is bad, just not charged. Reset SMC. What to consider next? Have tried an alternate proven working charger and connector. Computer does start up fine on AC. A different 3rd party battery, or an OEM battery....

Chosen Solution EDIT: MacBook history. MacBook Wont boot past apple logo screen.. A1278/C17J9JQHDTY3 MacBook randomly died and won’t start. I opened MacBook, evident water/liquid damage. alcohol soak, swab & dry. SMC reset. MagSafe charger orange/green light. What do I try next? How can I fault find the battery, dc-in board or logic board? Logic boards are stupid expensive… Literally 90% of the cost of the MacBook when it was new.. Chosen Solution Is the topcase from a mid 2012 MacBook Pro interchangeable with a 2008-2010 MacBook Pro topcase w/keyboard. Chosen Solution Hi! I was just wondering if anyone knows a source for bulk quantities of iBook and MacBook screws. I’m not looking for complete sets of screws, or even screws that are “certified Apple”, but simply screws that are identical to what Apple uses in iBooks and MacBooks. Are the screws that Apple uses common screws that are mass-produced and sold outside of Apple products? Actually, I have more than enough of most Apple screws, but the screw in particular I’m always short on is the one used mostly in iBook G4s on the topcase and lower shielding – the “skinny” 6MM phillips....

I don’t know how it could be the wrong password when I have been able to get into it in the past with the same password that I have on it? Chosen Solution Today I replaced the battery in my MacBook Pro 2015, following the excellent iFixIt guide (though not using an iFixIt kit as I can’t buy that where I live). It started up perfectly afterwards (so the battery is working), but the trackpad and keyboard aren’t working. This seems to be a common problem, with many suggesting a damaged trackpad cable. However, my problem is a bit weird. First thing I noticed is that the trackpad, which has a “fake” clicker, makes a click sound when a press it when the mac is on, though with no input on the Mac....

Chosen Solution Hi guys, A few days ago my TV screen suddenly went black and I don’t quite know what to do. Basically, if I turn it on the LG logo will appear for about a second or so and then the screen goes black. although backlight stays on. The only button on the remote that does anything is the on/off one. Called up 2 tv repair shops and both told me almost straight away that it sounds like the panel is dead and I need to basically replace the whole screen (a $3,000 repair), which I don’t quite believe....

Chosen Solution During a screen repair I had a very small component fall off right below the rightmost screw of the dock connector. It is square and appears to have 4 solder pads on it. I’m not 100% sure this is actually the correct component as I just ended up with the tiny part on my sheet after I was all done so I had to go back in and look on the logic board for missing parts....
