Chosen Solution So yesterday I brought a iPhone and was told it needed a new screen and a screen reset whatever that means. Took it to my repairer got the screen fixed and he told me to connect it with iTunes did that and got a error looking up the error the forum info suggested that turning off the phone then turn it back on holding the home button once it turned on the camera light flashed thinking it was all good I look at the top of the screen to see the padlock icon does anyone know what this all means and if I can be fixed or just count it as a lose...

Chosen Solution ZIF socket is broken. Is there a repair short of motherboard replacement? If the socket is still attached to the logic board you can “McGyver” something. Try to secure the cable with tape or glue but be ultra careful not to break more or shorten something. This also happened to me. Before I discovered ifixit.com, instead of pulling the ribbon AWAY from the socket, I pulled the ribbon AND the socket out away from the board....

After failing to defy gravity and certain laws of motion and inertia, it acquired a slightly bent lower right corner, with the bend starting just around the point where the touchscreen wiring goes in, and a cracked lcd.
