Chosen Solution Many times RAM issues are that they aren’t snapped in - some times it takes what seems to be a lot of force. Check alignment then be certain they bottom out. Bottom one goes in first tilt it up a bit to align then tip down and push. If the dog-ears (tabs) align and lie flat you’ve got it… if they stick out a bit you missed. Chosen Solution So macs fan control worked before like a month ago but now it suddenly won’t work for some reason. I used other fan controlling software but none of them work. I did a hardware scan and it says there is a problem with the fan(error code PPF004) so maybe there is something wrong with the physical fan? But it does not explain the random fan speed spike which goes up to the average of 1000rpm....

Chosen Solution Found a Surface Book 2 from the ewaste. I tried plugging in with a type-C charger but it doesn’t seem to be drawing any power (charger nor the cable are warming up). Holding down the power button to force restart didn’t do anything. I haven’t tried a surface connector charger yet, but is that mark on the surface connector an indication that some sort of short might’ve happened? I cleaned the coils also. thank you Hi By thermister do you mean the defrost sensor? It is usually next to the evaporator. The sensor can be checked for continuity using an Ohmmeter. If it tests o/c (shows no continuity) at the operating temperature (around 0 degrees F), replace it....
