Apple is using the water sensors as warranty seals on this model. There’s one screw hidden under a water sensor in this model, and it’s supposed to act as a hint the phone was opened or water damaged....

Chosen Solution The compatibility list for this Hybrid drive on iFixit lists the late-2012 retina model. Is this listed in error? My understanding is that stock drives will not work with this model, as they use a proprietary SATA connector. 1 TB SSD Hybrid 2.5" Hard Drive Yup that drive with a full SATA connector is definitely not compatible with any Retina model. Someone should let them know.. I suppose someone was supposed to type in the 2012 Unibody but got confused and ended up entering the Retina instead....

Chosen Solution Works OK on an external keyboard. The D key was working intermittently so I removed the button and cleaned it. The scissor mechanism is OK. I notice the nipple seemed to be split. It looks hard to replace it, any ideas how to do so? Otherwise it’s a replacement keyboard. Use a scalpel or blade (or just pull it off with your fingers since it’s ripped) to remove it, use double sided adhesive to attach a new one on there....

Chosen Solution Same story that’s probably been told 500 times, my backlight intermittently works. The screen looks fine when using a flashlight, and plugging in an external monitor works perfectly fine. The backlight will come on if you repeatedly toggle the brightness buttons on the lowest setting and will stay on for 10-40 seconds unless you bring the brightness up real high, in which case it goes out immediately. I’ve replaced the inverter, and I’ve replaced the inverter cable....

Chosen Solution Decided to top up rinse agent dispenser in my dishwasher. By error I used WINDEX. Didn’t put a lot in ( maybe two tablespoons at most) but now am concerned. Can I get dispenser emptied? Or ??? Thanks for any help Cheryl @golflady ,Cheryl, I do not think the Windex would really hurt, but just in case you could try removing it with a large syringe from drug store, turkey baster or shop vac after empty put some water back in dispenser and repeat removal....

Chosen Solution my iPhone charges well and everything works normally but it gets hot and shows battery drain in about 4-5 hours, even if the phone is switched off. Ddo you have an idea what is wrong with it? The battery is okay. When the battery is completely discharged I have to put another battery into the phone to switch it on. Chosen Solution Replaced logic board, and trackpad(still not working/registering at all) and then bought new battery- NOW it turns on, chimes, spinning icon and looks like a loading bar starts and suddenly SHUTS OFF??? HELP. The newer machines don’t come with a DVD disk. Boot up holding down the “r” key to run a repair on the hard drive.
