Chosen Solution Hello, I have this laptop over several months, I know that apple Macbooks don’t heat up, but mine really comes hot while I am working on it, especially when I am watching videos, Its Logic board have been recently replaced by an apple authorizer, how much should the temperature max reach on istat pro ?? Should my laptop heat, how to know if i have a problem in my fans, I don’t hear their sound unless my Macbook becomes really hot, really really hot....

Chosen Solution Necessary info: my Macbook is the late 2008 unibody model with the 2.4GHz Core2Duo, 4GB of RAM, and a 120GB SSD. I’ve been attentively monitoring my Macbook’s temperature and I have noticed that it seems to idle around 65-70 C. I mostly just use the computer for internet browsing, word processing, and listening to music off my hard drive–but I have seen the temperature veer toward 80-85 C even with such moderate workload....

Chosen Solution In changing my phone screen, I noticed that my mute switch screw was loose. In trying to tighten it up as carefully as I could, my screwdriver rubbed against the battery, exposing the metal shielding ever so slightly. Am I safe here, or should I swap out the battery? Update (03/02/2019) Hope this clears things up. :/ Update (03/02/2019) The battery doesn’t appear swollen to me so I am still of two minds about it....

Chosen Solution Quick history: Magsafe charging light wouldn’t come on, battery wouldn’t charge. Battery was failing (coconut battery app, Apple store all agreed this was true), bought a replacement from Egoway, installed. Coconut battery app now shows it as good. Magsafe light still won’t come on. Charge indicator on screen (upper right) says it is charging, but it’s not progressing at all. Tried resetting SMC and PRAM, but same results. Help?...

Yesterday the screen would go black if I lightly pressed the upper right corner. Today the screen is completely black and does not respond to touch. Chosen Solution My 2012 MBP developed a battery bulge but in this case, I was extremely lucky that it wasn’t severe enough to hinder the replacement process and I was able to get it out as if nothing happened. In addition to timing, I also had an extra used battery I was able to rescue and get back into the game as if nothing happened. Since I kind of lucked out and was able to replace the battery in an emergency (albeit with a used one) since I caught the trackpad bulge, do I need to reset the SMC of the Mac as well?...

I understand that Thunderbolt 3 is a complex interface that just uses USB C, but could I in theory replace the hub or port on my laptop with a Thunderbolt compatible one? Chosen Solution The adhesive strips snapped immediately. Had to use a hairdryer and try wedging a card under to remove the battery. This is the result. Does it need replacing? If the battery is bulging or swollen in any particular spots . if its cover is open or torn or if its creased at all you should change it out and defiantly change it out if its leaking at all. I cant tell from the pictures if any of these conditions apply but in the shape its in now it will be very difficult to get it back into the phone ....

Chosen Solution I accidentally droped the laptop that this was plugged in to… the cover for it split and when we went to plug it back in, it wasn’t showing up on the computer. I feel like this can be fixed easily since the connection to the motherboard is still intact… It’s just not showing up on the laptop. I agree that it probably can be fixed but easily…no. It’s hard to say from the pictures but when a USB drive is physically damaged, it usually means some traces on the circuit board are damaged....

Chosen Solution 2 days ago my macbook air keyboard and trackpad suddenly stopped working, the power button is the only button that works. But all function works fine with the external USB keyboard and mouse. I read many posts here and tried to start up to Apple Hardware Test, reset PRAM, reset SMC and start up in Safe Mode, after each step it works for a few mintues but then fail again… Finally I full reinstall the MAC OSX , but still doesn’t work :((( So it’s the hareware problem?...

Long story short, the battery is long dead at this point and the laptop was working on AC only for the past few months, and today it just turned off during some a bit more intensive cpu task and wont turn back on....
