Chosen Solution Hi. I tried to install 8GB RAM instead of 4GB. When I finished the replacement, I turned on my laptop, but the screen stayed black, no Dell logo or anything, no signs of booting at all (all the indicators were off). After 10-15 seconds it turned off by itself. After that the HDD indicator started blinking, and the other two indicators turned on. Then I removed the new RAM and installed back the old modules....
Chosen Solution The laptop is plugged in, but pressing the power button doesn’t turn it on. Take the battery out of the machine and unplug the laptop from the external power source. After doing so, hold the power button down for three to five minutes. Plug everything back in and replace the battery, check to see if the machine will power on
Chosen Solution Curiouser and curiouser. OK, so the saga continues. I ordered a set of Crucial 8GB SODIMMs, I installed them in the back (toward the stand)and received the following. One tone, a five-second pause, repeat. I shut it down and moved the ram to the two front slots, restarted and BINGO, 16GB showing up and running beautifully. So I decided to get brave (stupid) and moved them to be stacked, in both the left side slots, then I did the same on the right, again both times started right up and recognized both sticks....
Chosen Solution Recently got a new logic board and wondering what this is. Under network or ‘shared’ there is a HP computer. Is this still connected to some device that was used to check its functioning or does it mean there is a computer near by its trying to connect to? Please explain if you know what this is. Just feels weird being ‘shared’ with unknown computer. Never saw this on my old logic board...
Chosen Solution Will a top case made for the older Core Duo MB (the one with the brown cable) work on a Core 2 Duo MacBook (the one with the silver cable)? I think that I have a defective C2D top case and thought about checking the power-up capacity by using a spare Core Duo top case that I own. The connectors on the logic board seem compatible, but the C2D machine still will not power up with the known-good top case from the Core Duo....

I can still use it but i have to turn it off at the wall tostop it running. Any ideas? Chosen Solution I replaced the screen on my iPhone 6+, I did use my original home button, but touch ID no longer works. I see there’s also a ribbon cable running along the back of the metal plate, connecting the home button to the board, which I didn’t keep. All I kept was the original home button. I figure I could keep that ribbon cable by using my old metal plate, which is quite easy, without needing to rip that cable off the metal plate....
Chosen Solution All keys work except the row of keys for D to L If I use an external (blue tooth) keyboard then everything works. I can use the computer but it is awkward. My thought is it might be an open wire from the keyboard to the keyboard decoder chip or a defective chip. Sounds like your keyboard has a short. Chosen Solution first the keys are working then my friend put the keyboard onto tub of water for cleaning. now no any keys are working .sometimes keys are stuck means working continously without pressing. What kind of keyboard is it? You may just have to look on here Electronics Water Damage. Proceed with a modified version of this since you do not have a battery on your keyboard. Good Luck.
