Chosen Solution Hi I recently repaired an old Macbook pro late 2008 (macbook pro 5,1) an it worked fine since tomorrow when i was testing the battery durability without the charger it worked well but if you overcharge it the computer shutdown but if you plug the charger back and press the power button it works. But tomorrow the computer shut down and now if I press the power button it does not start… how can i resolve?...

Chosen Solution I know that the Max memory on the original 2006 model mini’s is 2 GB. However on the later 2008 model mini’s it’s 3 or 4 GB. Is there anyway to make an early model mini use 3 or 4 GB? Seeing as they use the same chipset in theory it should be possible. My guess would be it’s a firmware issue? According to Mactracker the max for memory on that unit is 2GB....

Chosen Solution So I recently replaced my, battery and charging port on my phone and noticed right away that my mobile data signal was horrible, like at home I would have no data what so ever, out in most places I would have it but not as strong as it used to be, anytime I walked into a building it was gone. I got really fed up with it and put my old charging port back in, it barely charges the phone but the data signal is normal again....

Chosen Solution I am stuck here with this problem. When I start my MSI GE 62 2QC Apache, it loads and say’s “Preparing Automatic Repair” and after a couple seconds it just restarts and does it all over again. How should I fix this problem ? Sadly the HD has gone on you. You might be able to get the bad sectors mapped out with a good formatting tool. You’ll need to boot up on an external drive to do this....

Chosen Solution Replaced the screen with Ifixit iphone 7 screen kit. The display worked seemingly perfect for a few hours . Wiped the phone and loaded lastest software and then the touch screen stopped recognizing any screen taps. Home button works without an issue. Curious if anyone has seen similar issues and know if it could be hardware or if the software updated caused it to stop working.. It’s most likely a screen issue....

Chosen Solution I replaced the battery on my IPhone 8 last week, and every time I go to charge it, it restarts and reboots. And idea how to stop this? Do a thorough visual inspection, preferably with magnification, of the area surrounding the battery connector. There are several tiny SMD components just above the connector. Of particular importance are the ones highlighted in blue below. If any are missing (which can happen when you pry the connector off), then the battery state does not get communicated to the CPU and this can also cause charging issues and fluctuating readings....

Chosen Solution Hi everyone, This is a crappy situation. I have an iphone 8 that only charges with wireless charging because pin 5 in the charging port is pushed in and is unreachable. I went out and bought a wireless charging pad one hour ago. I tested the pad in the store with the iphone and it went fine. The iphone booted no problem and started charging. I shut it off, bought that pad and when i was home the iphone refused to boot....

Chosen Solution I was using my Iphone Xr, then I put it down for a few minutes. When I came back to it, it was completely unresponsive and stuck on black screen. It doesn’t charge or connect to Itunes. 10 days prior to this happpening, it kept restarting, but I hard reset it a couple of times, and it was fine. Sometimes it would lag, but no major problems. I was hoping someone could tell me what to do in this situation....

Chosen Solution I just used a SD to CF adapter along with a 1.8” zif IDE adapter to flash mod my iPod 5th gen. After connecting it I got the sad face error message so I put it into disk mode and iTunes recognised it and I can restore it. I first tried on my windows machine to restore it and then I could access the whole 128GB sd card. However when restarting from disk mode the same error comes up on the iPod yet again....

Chosen Solution Is it worth taking the computer apart to upgrade the hard drive? We replaced the 16GB of ram with 32GB and it has helped immensely. I’ve heard that the hard drive it comes with is slow and I feel it is limiting the computers potential. HDDs are generally slow! But you need to balance your storage. Leveraging a fast NVMe SSD for your boot drive and hosting your Apps and that’s about it....

Chosen Solution My dryer stopped working mid-load. I let it cool off for 15 minutes and tried again. It started and continued drying the load. Once a fuse blows it has to be replaced. Did this just happen once, are you getting any error codes, any power outages, what kind of main breakers do you have? Run self diagnostic by and while in stand by press less heat, more heat, less heat more heat in sequence with in 5 seconds and then read code for problem possible....

Just after formatting my iPod, my internal drive broke down, and just after I got my MacBook back with a new drive (replaced under warranty), the drive of my back-up broke down, which means I lost all my data and especially my music. I screwed the external hard drive open, it was a WD My Book, knowing it’s nowhere near warranty anymore....

Chosen Solution I am fixing a iPhone 5c with a broken display, Would it be possible to take a display from another iPhone 5c that is not broken and then put it on the one with the broken display. As long as the other display is for an iPhone 5c and works fine then yes the parts should all be the same. It may even simplify the process as some small parts like the LCD shield, home button and camera and proximity sensor array should already be installed....

Chosen Solution So I left my iPhone XR in a bag unaware that it was gonna pour, and thinking that it was waterproof and that nothing was gonna happen to it but to my own luck I woke up with it looking very strange. I almost immediately knew it was water damage, I tried to explain to my parents that my phone had water damage and asked if we could get it fixed....

Chosen Solution I think my LCD i broken but i am not sure Can somebody tell me if it is and if its only the LCD There are no cracks in the screen Definitely LCD damage, not a connection or GPU issue. Some places can replace just the LCD, some can only replace the whole top lid (more expensive) hello nikola, can be the screen or try check the lcd connector in the logic board....

Chosen Solution Can you swapout the 2014/15 iMac 5k display and put in the newer 2017 display in it? Apple lists the two displays with different part numbers so I would say no. I doubt anyone would have tried using the 2015 iMac display on the 2017 iMac (not the Pro) as the risks ($$) are to great the part of the system could be damaged. Corrected your system info as now we are talking about a iMac Pro Vs a standard iMac 5K Update (04/20/2018) OK, lets see if I can clear up some of this mess that Linus got him self into ;-} Let’s say you went to a car dealer the day a new car came out and within a few days you had an accident, your hood and left side panel got damaged!...

Chosen Solution Haven’t been online recently. Will be soon. Anyway, for PCB cleaning like water damage, would denatured alcohol work instead of isopropyl alcohol? Reason being, isopropyl alcohol is pretty expensive, (1 gallon, $14, $28 shipping) and my physics teacher said isopropyl and denatured alcohol all really the same thing for most uses. @pccheese doubts this, and said I should ask here first. If so, what type of denatured alcohol should I look for?...

Chosen Solution in the past three months my MacBook and has developed an intermittent problem which has become more frequent. I now I have to either use my Bluetooth keyboard or dictation!! It is just the top row of letters, QWERTYUIo… P works! If I move the keyboard problem, if I type repeatedly and seemingly fill the keyboard buffer the problem goes away. I have taken my MacBook air to the genius bar, and after running diagnostics they found no hardware problems....
