Don’t know how exactly, however it may be due to security that the data does not get stolen, or safety, that exposed IR beam power stays below regulation limit when the device has been disassembled, or Apple just wants to mess with people....

Chosen Solution In some forums there were people who said that Apple had corrected the flexgate problem by lengthening the flex display cable slightly in the 2017 MBP whose manufacturing date was in mid-2018, the same as in the MBP 2018/2019. I don’t know if the issue is true or not, and because I’m curious, I finally opened my 2017 MBP (normal condition), to see how the flex display cable works and just check the cable’s condition … and this is what I found …...

Chosen Solution It went through the washing machine cycle. Is this a totally ruined phone? strongsbpi, possible. Remember that most laundry detergent use Sodium Silicate and/or Sodium Sulfate which be its nature are corrosive. So you know that you are in a bit of a time crunch. Corrosion will start by the time you removed your phone from the wash. To inhibit this, you could keep it in water as previously suggested by somebody else and/or keep it in the fridge as well....

Chosen Solution Hi I have a Sienna 2006, recently, I heard a Knock in the engine. The issue is this knock come once a week or some times twice a week and then its gone kindly, any suggestion… Knocks come in many shapes and sizes . it could be anything from a rod knock when under load to a knock made from not enough octane in the fuel . Could also be carbon build up in the cylinder head....

Chosen Solution Im having this screen and cannot log int Click on “Advanced options” from the “Automatic Repair” screen Then click on “Troubleshoot” Then in Troubleshoot screen click on “Advanced Options” From that screen click on “Startup Repair”, which may take awhile This should fix the problem. If not repeat it again. Sometimes it will say that it hasn’t fixed it but actually has. Try just starting up as usual. Let us know how it goes....

Chosen Solution I have a mid-2012 MacBook Pro 15” non retina. It currently has a 2.3 GHz i7 CPU, 16GB of RAM, with 750 HDD. Its been reliable until now, editing with large video files with FCPX. With all the plug-ins, it takes forever to export. My hard drive is almost filled up, so I have all my video files on an external, Lacie rugged 4TB. The write/read speed off the Lacie hard drives is around 125/MB’s using a Thunderbolt connection and has made my MacBook super hot....

Chosen Solution I have had my nutribullet for approximately 3 weeks. I have been using according to al guidelines. This morning a few seconds after the motor shut off there was a loud bang and then smoke started coming from the motor with electric burn smell. @shonabass, Shona, It sounds like a internal part has let go/broken. Since the blender is fairly new return to place of purchase for replacement/refund. If for some reason you do not wish to return, the link below is a disassembly guide that will get you inside blender to perhaps see/test which part has failed(this may void warranty)....

Chosen Solution After doing a thermal paste replacement, I reinstalled all components and connectors, including the battery and my MacBook Pro won’t start from battery power when the power button is depressed. Once I connect the power cable it starts up, it boots then powers down and re-boots, then finishes boot up process to the main screen. I did a system report check and it recognizes the battery is installed and charging, It even tells me the life of the battery, it displays “0” for amperage though, not sure if it doesn’t pull current while connected to power source....

Chosen Solution Seems there is something going on with my macbook (6.1) screen. The macbook itself does not freeze or anything but the screen starts turning white, I can hear sound and everything just can’t do anything until I tilt the screen either back or forward a bit which then returns the screen to perfectly normal. Any idea what exactly is going on here? I have attached a couple of images, the screen starts slowly then fades itself completely to all being white....

Chosen Solution After the washing machine runs through a full cycle working fine, on the very next load it starts in the agitation cycle. If the machine sits overnight it will work fine again, but on the next load it starts in the agitate cycle again. I replaced the timer part with a new one and it still does the same thing. Any ideas? This a a control board issue, I would first check the wiring connections....

Chosen Solution What difference between vcc main, vdd main, pp batt, and 5V0 lines ? I’m beginners in this job pleasee explained to me thanks.. VCC_MAIN and VDD_MAIN are essentially the same thing. The difference is in naming nomenclature. Technically speaking, Vcc (the proper way to write it) refers to the voltage applied to the “collector” pins of the transistors. Vdd refers to the voltage applied to the “drain” pin of the MOSFET’s it is connected to....

Chosen Solution My mid-2014 Retina doesn’t detect the battery any longer. The machine runs fine from AC. I took it to the Apple Store and they showed me a picture of corrosion around the battery/logic board connection. No one around here particularly remembers getting it wet, but that’s neither here nor there at this point as we’re way past warranty regardless. My question is whether or not it’s likely that a new battery kit will take care of it, or is it likely that there’s logic board damage?...

Chosen Solution I have a question whether you can install in an iPod nano 4G a camera. I’m sorry, but as far as I know, you cannot install the camera from the 5th Generation iPod Nano on the 4th Generation iPod Nano. You would have to replace everything in the iPod and at that point it would be more cost effective to buy the 5th Generation Nano. I highly doubt this is possible, but it’s funny, I was just thinking earlier of if it could be possible to install a camera on the iPod Touch....

Chosen Solution So folks in ifixit land I have successfully swapped out a 2012 logicboard from a 2012 15" MacBook Pro into a 2011 15" MacBook Pro! The 2011 is the last model year for the shunned 17" line of MacBook Pros. My question: Is the logic board compatible between a 2011 15" MacBook Pro and a 2011 17" MacBook Pro? If this was possible it would mean I could swap out that same logicboard from a 2012 15" MacBook Pro and put it into my 2011 17" MacBook Pro!...

Chosen Solution My iPhone fell of the floor with it being charged in that it hit the wrong way and the tip broke off of the cable and I was wondering if there is a way to fix it. I guess that depends on where the break occurred. If the metallic part broke off, there’s not much you can do. If it broke where the wire is coming out and you have some wire to work with, then you could splice the conductors back together....

Chosen Solution Hey, yesterday replaced whole screen + lcd for my iphone 6 from a donor phone, changed the button as well. Yesterday phone worked like a charm, as well as touch id. But today, touch id randomly stopped working and shows notification, button functionality remained. Any ideas whats the issue? For me it`s very strange, that at first it worked as normal, but just randomly stopped working… There is no signature problem “fingerprint sensor just stopped working” So you are left with the common problems that always lead to no fingerprint sensor—-you tore the long flex cable or have a bad one, have water damage in the home button connector, or have pry damage or poor connection at the logic board....

Chosen Solution My keyboard and trackpad frequently stop working and im not sure what the reason is. Sometimes i only need to close then open it again to get them to work, sometimes it requires a full restart, i have spilled water on my computer in the past but im not sure if that is the issue. Also sometimes, like right now the caps lock light is on but im not typing in all caps....
