Chosen Solution My iPhone 6 is showing a voltage rise when tested through a multimeter when connected to power, but the screen will not turn on and the phone shows no other signs of life, such as vibration motor, sounds, etc. EDIT: I did just find now that the battery is not charging past 2.56 volts, even with a new dock connector. EDIT 2: I just figured out that there is a quiet ticking noise inside the phone when charging, leading me to believe there is a short....

Chosen Solution I found an iPhone 6s Plus that was completely beat up; screen was missing, parts were broken. So I went ahead and began fixing on the phone, replacing parts and such. Anyway, I got it up in running in the end, but after I reset the phone and tried setting it up it will not show me any WiFi networks whatsoever. In addition to that it only shows “No Service” when I insert a sim-card, even though the sim-card is MY personal one and works perfectly on MY iPhone....

Chosen Solution Recently, my daughter dropped my iPhone on the floor and completely cracked my screen, my phone was already on 1% due to me not charging it that day, however as my daughter dropped it, it had long line going down the screen which told me the screen was broken, As I thought the battery was dead I went back home and charged it, and it wouldn’t turn on, I ordered a new screen replacement and completed this myself and it didn’t work, wondering if anyone has any suggestions on why this might be?...

Is it enough to change Logic board etc. or do I have to replace more components ? Different camera, different various sensor flex cables, slightly but definitely different dimensions and screw posts. If you have access to a USB Ammeter, you could use that to determine if the device is really drawing current when it says it’s charging....

Chosen Solution I recently dropped my iPhone 7 plus and wondered about getting a repair depending on wether it was still “waterproof”. That entirely depends on how big the crack is. Most of the time , if it is small cracks near the middle, you’ll be okay. If it is spider web cracked on the screen, it is going to be compromised. Water proofing is around the edges of the screen using adhesive, if the actual screen has cracks, water can penetrate into the internals of your device....

Chosen Solution Whirlpool W10537650 newer version Stainless Steel. We tried tripping the breaker but my cycle will wash but not dry. The first time it says clean but when I open the door there is still blue soap on the inside and it’s all wet. Smells dirty still. Run it a second time. It smells better no blue soap but still very wet. I did the “ heat dry -normal- heat dry- normal” buttons and closed door....

Chosen Solution my alienware laptop shell cracked on the right bottom side so the top half and bottom half are cracked so it always opens near the CD drive i am trying to find a way to by a whole new shell top and bottom but have no idea on how to do so Your best bet is to contact Alienware for the parts you need you may be able to find them on ebay or amazon as well but in most cases when the case is broke I use an epoxy called JB weld open the case and where its cracked on the inside apply the 2 part epoxy and it will hold like it was new....

A 30lb gorilla was jumping on it while watching cartoons You can use the iPad Air LCD in the iPad 5, they are compatible (several vendor sites confirm this).

Chosen Solution The small SMD coil (L9000) under the display connector on the logic board is charred. The display connector was damaged previously (broken shield) and every time I was transporting the iMac I had to either smack it or open it and wiggle the display cable in order to make it work. This time it might short-circuited one of those pins to the ground (the twisted wobbly shield) and hopefully only that inductance died....

Chosen Solution I’m trying to diagnose a iPad mini 2. My son brought me his iPad with the screen showing lots of multicolored vertical lines. I could still see the background and apps and could still use the iPad normally despite difficulty seeing full detail because of the lines. He said maybe he had dropped it but there was no obvious damage to the outside. This lasted maybe half a day before the screen went completely white....

Chosen Solution Hello community. I have a mac mini 2012 i7 2.3Gh/z and a 2010. I succeeded in fitting the 2012 motherboard in the 2010 chassis with an original macbook pro optical disk drive in it without modifying the motherboard. Sadly the optical disk drive does not want to take discs. It doesn’t swallow the disks at all. The optical drive doesn’t makes sound on startup. In System Information I do see the optical drive appearing in SATA and in disk burn....

Chosen Solution Got it sorted out. For anyone replacing their battery themselves on a MacBook Air - keep an eye on the ribbon cable that connects the keyboard and trackpad. It’s under the battery, and if you are not careful it can come out. Mine apparently came loose during the battery replacement and the connector end got lodged under the logic board, making it look like it was connected. I think mine must have been loose already because I didn’t notice it getting pulled on during the initial battery removal and re-install....

Chosen Solution I’m helping someone who dropped their MacBook and they “think” it hit the ground near the hinge. There is a dark smudge on the back corner near where the MagSafe power adapter connects. When I boot it up the screen displays all vertical pastel colored lines. Pretty but not helpful. I was able to boot it into target firewire mode and get a copy of the user folder using my iMac so the data is safe....

Even under stress tests the fans won’t turn on. I used a Mac Fan Control so they definitely work, reset SMC but nothing, and reinstalled OS. Any ideas? After breakdown and cleanup and applying new thermal paste, I discovered one side of a tiny small capacitor broken off. When lined up proper, it boots up and everything works great. The caps was just barely hanging on and finally broke off. There are no markings on the caps but I took a picture of Where it is located....
