Chosen Solution Hello, I have a old 2007 MacBook Pro 17 A1229 and it has a issue where when you turn it on it just displays a white screen. I have tried to reset the SMC and boot into the install disc but when attempted it does not show any results. The MacBook just continues to display the white screen without it restarting or showing any response. I hope someone could help, thanks....

Chosen Solution At some point my macbook started shutting itself out. Each time with a higher frequency. He hardly ever calls. Sometimes I press the power button and after some time (60 seconds) it shows the characteristic boot sound and again it turns off. I already tried to open it, disconnected the battery and turned it on again. Unsuccessfully I already tried to reset the PRAM and SMC, without success as well....

Chosen Solution I’ve got the same MBP here, same exact problem as these folks MBP turns off Randomly Without Warning Anyone been able to actually nail down the cause and permanently fix the issue? Or is this possibly something that Apple should legitimately be covering under a recall? Update (12/02/2016) I’m on my laptop right now trying to reply to this thread - and it’s shutting down on me just the same....

Chosen Solution I’m doing a refurb on my Note 4’s, mostly because I tired of carying around 2 phones to get the function of one. I’m running into trouble trying to find some of the parts I need to replace based on lost functions. My in-call mic doesn’t funtion, only the speakerphone mic does. Which board is this located on? My phone has difficulty connecting to the network and will often not make a connection while making a call....

Hi @dirkyoung , Check that the webcam is not disabled and is working correctly. If you have no webcam ensure that the webcam option is still enabled in BIOS. The microphone is situated on the webcam board or microphone only board depending on your configuration....

Chosen Solution My phone shuts off randomly even with full charge. It will just shut off and then won’t turn on unless I smack it really hard. And then will only stay on if it is charging. But the second I unplug it, it turns off. It just happened all of a sudden with no warning. Sounds like you would need to change the battery . I’d suggest you try that and let me know

Chosen Solution Hey guys! I have an iphone 6 here that crashes and reboots after about a minute of use. I wasn’t able to restore it until I tried with the screen removed, so it appears that its stable without the screen. The backlight circuit looks good, vcc main is free of shorts. There is no trace of water damage or burned components. I’ve tried replacing every external component, so I’m pretty sure it’s a board level problem, but I’m at a loss at this point....

Chosen Solution Hi, This is my first Iphone 6 screen repair. I repaired the screen and everything went well. The phone will not really charge. It got to 14% in about 2 hours now its been on 14% for the past hour and a half. I left the phone sitting for 1.5 months with the battery disconnected the whole time before repair. Anyone have a solution? Thanks in advance! If this is a hardware fault I’m thinking initially either charging port or battery....

Chosen Solution Can I get a thin iPod Classic 160 GB (Thin) Hard Drive and place it in a 3rd gen iPod? they look the same dimensions? what about the connectors etc? Thomas Lahoud, sorry but no. The HDD are different interfaces and different physically. You can see the difference on this guide, step 9 forward and compare it to this guide, step 10 and on. Those are not interchangeable. Chosen Solution Hi there, I changed the broken display of my iPhone 6s and ever since then it behaves irrational. The battery is drained completely after less then 4 hours of use. Sometimes, after fully loading the phone, I unplug the power chord - start up a program and the display goes dark with the “load battery” animation. Then it shuts down. After some seconds you can power it up again with the power button and it will work just fine with showing full capacity on the battery....

Chosen Solution My macbook air 2013 has water damage. When I was looking for new logic boards for the 1466 model I saw the 2014 and 2015 logic boards. Now I’m stuck with that one question: Is it possible to place the newer 1466 logic boards in an older model? To be on the safe side just make sure the board will be supplied with its heatsink. Other than that all the rest is fully compatible between various 2013/2015 boards....

Chosen Solution I accidentally flooded my pocophone while tubing and now it’s not turning on, I know the phone is probably fried but I just want to retrieve the files inside. @nsitf you cannot for as long as the phone does not come on. You could try and disassemble it and clean it with +90% isopropyl alcohol according to this guide Repairing iPhone Liquid Damage It was written for an Apple iPhone but all the points are still pertinent to your phone as well....

Chosen Solution This old iPod has given up the ghost. Most likely dropped too many times. However, apart from asking if it’s worth fixing and getting a new one. Is it just a battery problem. Because it just doesn’t want to charge. I’ve plugged it in with the wall charger and into the computer. Nothing from the two. Chris, I would absolutely fix it. Start of with a new battery, most likely that will be what gives you the trouble....

I like to keep one or two in stock for customers looking for repairable, upgradable machines but would like to acquire the ones made in latter years. Is there a way to quickly identify these machines? I know I can use Coconut Battery to tell manufacture date but is there another way? Like with serial numbers and Apple’s Check Coverage page?...

Chosen Solution I let my friend borrow my camera, and he somehow managed to break the lens. I am having a hard time figuring out how to get the external lens off so that I can replace it. Any ideas? Replacing a broken external lens is easy, if you follow the steps in this guide.

Chosen Solution Basically I put together an iphone 6s plus as a project via a new 3rd party rear housing + connecters, battery and screen from ebay and used the board from a damaged phone (camera “knocked off” not working, headphone jack thinking headphones plugged even when not and id button not working). Phone works now, board coupled with said ebay parts. I’m using the original camera as that’s showing a crisp image and the ebay one was blurry, but I have no flash....

Chosen Solution I purchased this RAM used for diagnostic purposes since I do not have any established DDR3L (and I can put this to good use so I’m not wasting it once I’m done with what I need it for) but I’m not sure if this is Apple OEM or retail modules that just happen to be black. I suspect it’s Apple RAM based on the PCB, but I also know black RAM is available open market now....

Chosen Solution And now the check engine light is on Does this car have a turbo? You mentioned at high boost . What kind of boost numbers? What kind of RPM are you cutting out at and are you sure your just not running up against the rev limiter? If you have an engine light are you getting a code for the miss-fire . Should be a p0301-304 depending on which cylinder is missing ....

Chosen Solution I bought a JBL Go 2 for Christmas, and it only turns on when I plug it in. There is a blinking white dot. While plugged in it works perfectly, connects to bluetooth and plays music, but as soon as I plug the cable out it turns off and wont turn on. It was on charger for more than a day so I dont think its not charged. Its brand new, bought in december....

If not you’ll need to boot up under the recovery partition to run Disk Utility. I often find I need to run Disk Utility from a different boot drive so you might want to give that a try if you have a MacOS bootable drive....
