Chosen Solution Hi Guys, I got an iPhone 7 about 8 months ago. The first accident was about a month in dropped it on the pavement (screen protector didn’t help), cracked screen. Had the screen replaced. It been fine since. Until about 2 weeks ago, the battery level dropped from 63% to 1% in split second while I was using it. I’ve tried hard reset, DFU Restore (I had the phone plugged in to enter this mode), the phone refuses to turn on without being plugged in, and when that happens, it just gets stuck in the reboot loop....

Chosen Solution Just replaced my display assembly and now getting a black screen. I’ve tried resetting the phone, turning it off by sliding where the power off slide button would be and tried plugging it into ITunes to restore and nothing. The restore option is asking for the password which I should have taken off before I did the repair but didn’t. When docked with my speaker it plays music so I know it’s not the battery....

Chosen Solution Hi everyone, just wanted to bring this to a close. Thanks to all that assisted me. In the end, I believe the poor application of thermal paste from the manufacturer was the original source of the problem. This model in particular I have read as having problems with overheating, so perhaps this is the culprit… This caused the overheating, and then the destroying of the baseplate. I removed and re-applied the thermal paste (ArctiClean Kit 1 & 2 Thermal Paste Compound Remover + Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound Paste 3....

Chosen Solution My MBP A1260 just died, nothing special lead up to this. It have been trustfully been working for 2.5 years. No startup sound or picture, though the superdrive does it regular startup thing, the fans start (normal speed) and the on/off light comes on when I power it on. This is what I have tried: Startup with external screen Disconnected all external devices Reset PRAM and SMC Power up with or without battery Startup without RAM and tried on by one of the ram chip’s Opened it up and tried starting without: Hard drive Superdrive iSight camera panel/screen Disconnected-connected all accessible (from the “top) connectors I even coneccted an older battery to check if the poweradaptor is able to charge it, and that looks OK....

Chosen Solution Hi all, could anyone advise me how to proceed, was in the process of removing my old battery from my iPhone SE 16gb, after being unsuccessful in retrieving the adhesive tabs conventionally, i opted to try and lever the battery up off the adhesive tabs, causing it to distort slightly and i believe puncture through the outer black lining. I noted a few very small sparks followed by a acidic smell, stopped the process and noticed the battery has warmed up but not swelled....
