Chosen Solution I have a Macbook Pro 13" Retina Late 2013 (A1502 802-3476-A) and it suffered liquid damage from the previous owner. I managed to clean up the corrosion on the board and it is able to successfully boot but only if I hold the power button down for 5-10 seconds. If I simply push the button normally, the fan will spin briefly and the machine will power off before the Apple logo shows up....
Chosen Solution Start up shows aplle icon and spinning wheel, but won’t boot up Try starting up from your system installation disk. Insert disk and hit the start, hold down the “C” key to get it to book from the optical drive. Go to the second screen. the pull down menu will give you Utilities. Go to Disk Utility and see if you can repair your hard drive.

If you do this, though, keep a vacuum near by because the dust will fly everywhere. I run the vacuum right next to the vent, then spray air into it. Compressed air goes in, dust comes out into the vacuum....

Chosen Solution SO whenever I startup my laptop it starts fine, the full startup animation is visible. but as soon as the computer is about to start the screen goes dead. Works just fine when plugged into an external monitor. Tried booting up in safe mode and from an old system disc, same problem. It started when I was in the middle of working on something.
